When diffusing, always start at the roots, lifting upward to encourage as much movement as possible (while trying NOT to disturb hair lengths or create frizz). Keep the dryer temperature on warm and on a low speed. When the roots are dry, start working on the mid-lengths using the same upward motion. When they are completely dry, move to the ends. The roots and mid-lengths have to be completely dry in order to eliminate any frizz. If the roots are left wet, either the water will run down the hair shaft or the wetness underneath will create a humid environment… both situations create frizz.
Curl Refreshed is the perfect tool to use when refreshing your shape after dry cutting!
Gently run your fingers or a large-toothed comb through your hair, then apply a small amount of conditioner using a crab-claw motion at the round of the head (near ears)… not directly on top of the head. Apply another small amount, scrunching from the ends of the hair upward toward the scalp to encourage curl. Depending on your curl type, rinse out or leave in.
Using the right towel makes a difference, so try to use a cotton or microfiber towel to minimize friction and reduce frizz. Flip your head upside down and use the towel to lift curls toward the scalp. Don’t rub, just support the curls in the towel and gently squeeze while keeping the shape of the curl intact. Do the same on both sides, leaning to the left and right.
Our Curl Nourished Conditioner offers adjustable conditioning? For those with finer curly hair who desire featherweight moisture and definition, it can be rinsed out. For those with thick, coarse, erratic curls who need extra moisture, control and definition, it does doubleduty as a spectacular leave-in foundation for stylers.
Do not pre-comb. Rinse your hair with very warm water for a minute. Apply Curl Crème Wash generously to hair at the scalp, then “slide” product through hair to the ends. Massage around the scalp area for three minutes using your fingertips, adding water as needed to work product through hair. Once the product has been worked through hair, rinse in a flat motion so as not to disturb the curl. Repeat if necessary.
Co-washes are not just for curly hair! Their gentle action also makes them a great choice for those who want their haircolor to last longer!
After conditioning the hair, gently towel-dry the hair, then liberally apply Curl Perfected to your hair starting at the ends, spraying upward. Using a crab-claw motion, shape and encourage curl from the bottom up. You should saturate hair with Curl Perfected, as you NEVER want to start styling your curl from a slightly damp state; it should be thoroughly saturated!
Once you have chosen the right product for your curl type, apply using the crab-claw motion, scrunching upward into your desired curl position. If air-drying your hair, touch it as little as possible while it dries. Once dry, use a hair pick or your fingers to break up, set and add body to curls.
Curl Perfected is not just for curly hair. It’s also amazing to balance pH, even-out porous ends and seal in moisture on long, ombré and/or bleached hair!
Co-washes (conditioning shampoos or foam-less conditioning washes) are designed for all hair types (thick, fine, dense, coarse, etc.) and offer a gentle, low-friction way to cleanse the hair without sulfates or foamers? They are ideal for those who battle dry, frizzy, dull hair and LOVE the way their hair feels the days AFTER they shampoo! Hair maintains all its body and manageability, but it feels smoother, has less frizz and has better curl definition than when traditional shampoo is used.
Water is a curl’s worst enemy? On those days when your curls need instant refreshment, saturate flat, frizzy, misshapen curls with Curl Refreshed instead of water. Water’s pH of 7 causes hair to swell and become even more frizzy, whereas Curl Refreshed has a perfectly balanced pH and our exclusive Triple-Oil Complex to revitalize curls and banish frizz between shampoos.
The way you towel-dry your curly hair will make a huge difference in your curl pattern and the amount of frizz your hair will have once it’s dry?
Before adding styling products, curly hair needs to be saturated (not towel- dried!), but water’s pH can cause hair to swell and become frizzy? Our Curl Perfected Curl Correcting Milk has a pH of 3.5-4.5 to balance hair’s pH, causing it to constrict and evenly “push out” water eliminating fast-drying, frizzy ends. Plus, it also nourishes hair and seals the surface to create the perfect base for perfectly formed, frizz-free curls!
Styling products should be applied when hair is completely saturated, not towel-dried? Always Use Curl Perfected prior to your stylers! When you do add your stylers, always start your application at the ends and work your way up toward the scalp, then either air-dry the hair or dry with a diffuser attachment.
